There is no cost for entering a school choir.

We don't have minimum or maximum choir numbers for the Glasgow Local Mòd, but we do ask you to confirm the number of children in your choir when you enter, so we can estimate numbers attending the event, and ensure we have enough space for everyone.

If your numbers change nearer the time, please let us know.

The competitions for 2024 are:

• Fluent - under 13 unison
• Fluent - under 13 puirt-à-beul
• Fluent - under 19 unison
• Fluent - under 19 puirt-à-beul
• Learner - primary school choirs - sing one Gaelic song

For the Glasgow Local Mòd, choirs can sing their own choice of song. If you want to sing one of the songs that has been prescribed for the Royal National Mòd, please see the syllabus on An Comunn Gàidhealach website.

You must bring two spare copies of the sheet music, with words in Gaelic, on the day of the competition. This is so we can give these to the Gaelic and music judges. We would still allow children to perform, but it may not be possible to judge their performance as part of the competition if the judges don't have copies of the words and music.
